Beginnings

Good morning!! Ok, so it is way too early and I have alot to get done but do you see this amazing bit of God's creation?---This is what is known as a rock arch. It is in a place called Arches national park. No really I'm not kidding. ---Anyway the cool thing is I am leaving tonight at midnight to go there. The uncool thing is it's in Utah about 16 hours away. Why you ask if I am going hiking in Colorado am I heading to the desert and Utah. Well do you see those snow capped mountains in the back? That's the La Sal mountains. Here is my training ground to get use to higher altitudes before I head to Colorado. I will be in the desert at 5000ft for 3 days, and the La Sal's (camping at 10000ft) for 4 days.
During this trip I will be blogging as much as I can on my little phone, but many places I will be won't have reception. (Can you hear me now??) Bear with me and feel free to drop me a comment.

Howdy. So that's me sitting on the rock. What am I daydreaming about???

That's right, throwing some sweet punches towards the camera, and going HIKING IN COLORADO!!!!

. Well dreaming is great.

Doing is better.

I know you want a Nilla wafer!----Big shout out to my sis for the pics. Evie you ROCK!!

So follow along.

I will be leaving on the 8th of July.

  4. Very cool idea to do a blog, I'm excited to see how your adventure goes! I was wondering how you'd be able to have access to the internet way out in the wilderness (forgot about cell phones & their ability to do that, hope you have a qwerty keyboard!!!). Good luck and I'll be praying for you! Wait, are you doing this alone??

  5. Hi Leahbee,

The first 7 days I am with dude named Sean in Utah. Then I pick up my mountain mentor Chris from Denver airport. (He is flying in for a couple of days to climb a mountain called Bierstadt with me) After that I am on my own. Wait. I could come pick up little Jacob. I hear tell fresh air and altitude does wonders for lung development:)

  7. Hey Phil,

I have not eaten at Josie Peppers since we last had you wait on us. Maybe I will lose a few pounds by not going there. Your pictures are unreal, something out of national geographic. Cassie says HI
